FASHION TRENDS...!!!

Fashion is a synonym for glamour, beauty and style it also applies to a prevailing mode of expression, but quite often applies to a personal mode of expression that may or may not apply to all. It is something we deal with everyday. Even people who say they don't care what they wear, they choose clothes every morning that say a lot about them and how they feel that day.
Anything from shoes, jeans, blazers, coats, sweaters, dresses, shirts, skirts, make-ups and even hair styles can be fashion. They say that a fashion lasts 1-3 years, and after that its called a fad. There are many styles out there and while most of us would like to copycat everything we see on television, it is always worthwhile to pick on the style that suits you so that you look trendy. Fashion knows no gender it applies to both men and women. We have some men who have a very classy and unique sense of style.
Every person has a fashion icon that inspires them. Well, whether a celebrity, a friend or even a relative anyone can inspire your fashion sense. But a common category of people that inspire our fashion sense is the celebrities. We have many celebrities with various fashion styles some are trendy while some are trashy. However there are those celebrities who remain top when it comes to fashion style the likes of Victoria Beckham, Paris Hilton, Beyonce Knowles, Sara Jessica Parker among the many fashion icons. I must admit that some of these people really know how to work their fashion sense right.
I am inspired by various local and international public figures such as our very own Julie Gichuru and Lilian Muli, Eve D'souza and Linet aka Size 8 just to mention a few (others are loading).
When it comes to international public figures we have Victoria Beckham who tops the list (this woman knows her way around fashion ), Sara Jessica Parker (when it comes to shoes), Beyonce Knowles (knows how to work her pear-shaped figure), Leighton Meester (trendy),Lisa Raye, Khloe Kardashian (I love all her shoes),Kim Kardashian (I like all her blazers),Taraji P.Henson (nice body) and Jessica Szhor(classy casual)

Here are some of the said fashion icons:

Fashion is also a state of mind,a spirit, and an extension of one's self. Fashion talks, it can be an understated whisper, a high-energy scream or an all knowing wink and a smile. Most of all fashion is about being you.
What I wear depends on my day, mood and what's clean. But on my most days, I dress to my mood which can range from funky to retro to classical. Then again, there are days when my laundry basket dictates what I ultimately wear.

YOU SHOULD BE WORRIED; CLIMATE CHANGE IS A BIG THREAT!

Climate change is becoming a big inevitable concern to not only our lives as human beings but also to the ecosystem reason being, you and me have assumed the early warning that the environment is sending us every day. We end up blaming the government for not doing so many things that we can do as individuals. One of Mahatma Gandhi’s quotes says “Be the change you want to see in the world”, and clearly this is where it all begins, with oneself. But what exactly causes climate change? Climate change is caused by among other things Global Warming. Global warming being the drastic increase in the emission of CO2 (carbon dioxide) caused by burning fossil fuels thus resulting to change of temperature in the atmosphere. Global warming has been caused by various environmental concerns such as:   Greenhouse gases -human activity has increased the amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere .This has lead to more heat being retained in the atmosphere and thus increasing g...

ENGAGING YOUR COMMUNITY

How do you engage your community? From my experience of working with and for the vulnerable community members I must say one of the best thing you can give to someone is a listening ear, giving people time to talk about what they are experiencing can help you visualize how to help them. Getting information first-hand from the people on the ground helps you develop practical solutions to their problems. Gone are the days one would wake up and think of doing something to help people in a community without seeking their input. Community engagement is basically bringing the stakeholders of a community on board to address issues affecting their well-being, achieve sustainable outcomes, ensure equitable decision-making processes, and develop relationships. It puts people’s voice at the heart of operations and programmes and start shifting the power imbalances that existed. When engaging the community you gain the trust of the people you serve and your work becomes relevant and impactfu...
